Will I receive a separate bill from my anesthesiologist?

Like physician specialists (pediatricians, obstetrician, surgeons, etc.) that you commonly receive health care, you will receive a bill from your anesthesiologist. These are for the professional services provided by your anesthesiologist. Your insurance company will be billed for the service, however you may be responsible for any deductible or co-insurance payments.

On your hospital or facilities bill, you may notice some anesthesia-related charges. These are for the supplies and equipment used by your anesthesiologist during your surgery. These are not for the professional services provided.
